The old valluvanad Taluk in Malabar, which had been a part of old Madras state was one of the educationally backward areas. During that period there were high schools only at Ottapalam, Perinthalmanna and Cherpalacherry. The present Sreekrishnapuram high school had been started as a result of the effort of some social workers of this area during that time. The honorable education Minister of Madras State Shri. Kozhipurath Madhava Menon, during that period gave the green signal to start a high school at Sreekrishnapuram. The Sreekrishnapuram educational society was registered in the year 1951, with Shri. M.C. Narayanan Namboodiri as President, Shri K.P Kunhi Rama Kurup as Vice President, Shri M.K.S. Raman as Secretary and nine other members as office bearers. Shri. P.M Chithra Bhanu Namboothiripad, Shri. P.C Narayanan Namboothiripad, Shri C.T Chokunni Tharakan, Shri Appu Kuttan Mannadiar, Shri N.C. Subramanian Namboothiripad, Shri. M. Krishnan Nair were the Directors then. The land required for the construction of the school building(approximately 9 acres) was donated free of cost by Perumanath mana and Nediyedath Mana who were the traditional land lords of Sreekrishnapuram. Thus the inauguration of Sreekrishnapuram High School was materialized on 28th June 1951. During the year 2002, the school had been upgraded up to a Higher Secondary School with four batches. Today, Sreekrishnapuram Higher Secondary School has been counted as one of the best Higher Secondary Schools in Palakkad District. A vast green, play ground is one of the greatest assets of this school. The school is on the verge of celebrating its Diamond jubilee on 28th June 2011. As a part of the same the play ground has been levelled spending lakhs of rupees. A 400 mt track will be readily made available there very soon. Many programmes have chalked out and going on in the school as a part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Also it has been decided to construct an open air auditorium at this picture as a memorial of the celebrations.
